The Blue Pools are part of the Mount Aspiring National Park, on the South Island of New Zealand. The brilliant blue color of the pools is attributed to the pure glacial waters of the nearby Rob Roy Glacier. The glacier grinds rocks into fine particles, and these particles, known as glacial flour, remain suspended in the water, creating the vivid turquoise hue.
